Rana Hasan is a totally self taught young guitarist from Lahore City, Pakistan, started playing guitar at 18, influenced by the great rock/bluesmen Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. By the turn of the century he had new influences Yngwie Malmsteen, Todd “T.J.” Helmerich, Rusty Cooley, Greg Howe and he went heavily into learning the shred techneques. In 2005, Rana won Best Talent Award Scholarship from Berklee College of Music, Boston, but could not take up the offer. Rana has gone on to work as a freelance session guitarist, music producer by artists of many different genre and teaches guitar at his home studio. Rana is now also known as “The Fastest Guitarist in Pakistan”, and he has applied for the Guinness world record.. hoping to become the official fastest guitarist! You guys are all asshats. He was showing off hsi speed, not his musical ability, learn to read. I’m sure he can play blues or whatever just as well as the next guy, but the video wasn’t called ‘World’s most awesome blues solo’ now, was it?

Sure, he is an advanced player, but if he wants to impress me he has to play the same shred on acoustic guitar - a little bit deeper - or on electric guitar without fuzz or distortion !
